The All-Time Top 100 Voices in the Movies

Sometimes a movie is only worth watching for its stars — and sometimes a star is only memorable for his or her voice, so filmcritic.com decided to rank the top 100 movie star voices of all time.

It says a lot about the insular nature of the reviewers in that the actors chosen are only from American films. The amazing Jean Reno only rates a mentioned because he does a lot of US film work.

It's a pretty good list, but is more notable for its absences. How could they have forgotten to include Bruce Campbell and Bruce Lee? Or Rutger Hauer, Tchéky Karyo, Daniel Auteuil, Jürgen Prochnow, Jean Rochefort, Henry Rollins and Christophe Lambert?

I think the film critics need to get out more

Paul Lynde
Oh, God. In Bewitched, there's this actor who does a dead-on, flawless Lynde voice to play Uncle Arthur.

John Wayne - You know it, Pilgrim. He had the most recognizable voice in old Hollywood.
::snickers:: And the littlest feet on a male actor, I'm wagering. Judging by the footprints at Mann's, anyway.

James Earl Jones
Yes! Thank the stars; I was hoping he'd be included. Truly meltworthy. — posted by IrishVampire13 at 15.07.2005 10:15 AEST | #

The guy in Bewitched is Steve Carell, he'll be playing Maxwell Smart in an upcoming Get Smart remake. Don't think I've seen him in anything — posted by Red Wolf at 15.07.2005 10:42 AEST | #
