"Didn't I tell you this was a great place." The Doctor held Rose's hand tightly, preventing her from putting her fingers in her ears.
She leaned close and screamed in the Doctor's ear to be heard over the din of the ululation. "This is worse than cicadas."
Rose forced a smile for the crowd, her face aching with the effort. She wouldn't have minded if the ceremony for honouring visitors didn't last so long, didn't cause permanent hearing loss and they didn't kick off again every half hour. But, if nothing else, it explained where Spinal Tap's backing singers retired.
