by Red WolfAnya leaned on the counter, a wistful smile on her face, as she listened to Spike telling Dawn about the places he'd been.
One of the benefits of working for D'Hoffryn was that it was a great way to see the world, and the odd demon dimension. It wasn't until she lost the power of the wish that Anya realised that, while she may be well-travelled, she had never seen anything of the many places she'd visited unless an act of vengeance was required.
Anya picked up the phone. Travelling for the sake of travel itself held a certain cachet.

I love the idea of Anya travelling the world for pleasure! I can imagine all the fun she would have on the way :) Great job! — LiveJournal

I just had a horrible thought of the luggage she'd take with her. I can see Anya being the kind of old-fashioned world traveller that needs to take several large trunks. She may need to take attractive male porters with her to assist — LiveJournal

Not just vengeance demons, you know. And even people on pleasure trips often miss so much as they hurry from sight to sight. ::sigh:: Very nice little character insight — LiveJournal — posted by Elizabeth Culmer at 27.11.2004 17:01 AEST |

Having seen some dodgy tour groups in passing, especially the tours that herd Japanese tourists enmasse, I can only agree.
The current dodgy tour gimmick are the ones that do the bus tours of supposed duty free stores. If the tourists had the chance to look for themselves they could find what they want cheaper elsewhere — LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 27.11.2004 17:01 AEST |

Nice to see something from Anya's POV, after all the Spike/Dawn stuff — LiveJournal

Lovely Anya. And an interesting idea, too. That wouldn't have been something that would interest a vengeance demon. :-) — LiveJournal

Anya was into her work in a big way and never relaxed like Halfrek did, so she would have missed a lot — LiveJournal

Oh, I like this! Anya's feelings and thoughts outside of Xander weren't enough explored, and by the time they could have been, she was dead. I liked your drabble — LiveJournal

Many thanks! Anya was so under used and had so much potential, was not happy that they killed her off — LiveJournal

I know a couple of people who are like that myself. Personally, I agree with what Joss said about that it wouldn't have been a real battle if there hadn't have been any deaths or casualties. I thought she went out well, abrupt which was her nature — LiveJournal

Very nice. It makes sense that Anya, being the workaholic that she is, wouldn't have been able to see the sights on her travels. Now, I wonder where she's going to go. ^_^ — LiveJournal

I was thinking of her with mountains of luggage, I didn't even consider her putting the thumbscrews on a travel agent for the best deal, but she certainly would — LiveJournal

What a wonderful drabble. Based on that Word of the Day — I certainly wouldn't have expected that word to lead to this interesting peek into Anya's life: past and present — via fanfiction.net
