The Doctor ran his finger over the text on the wall. "Can you make a note of this?"

"I don't have anything to write with."

The Doctor rummaged through his pockets and tossed her what looked like a notepad.

Looking at the object, Rose peeled back the plastic sheet on top and laughed. "You want me to write complex mathematical equations on a magic slate?"

Turning to face her, the Doctor blinked in surprise. "What's wrong with a magic slate? Would you rather an Etch-a-Sketch? I have one here somewhere."

"Never mind." Rose shuddered at the thought. "This'll be fine."
