Eostreby Red Wolf

"Where did you find these? They're gorgeous." Rachel admired one of the many foil-wrapped, chocolate Cthulhus that Dawn preparing to deliver to Watcher headquarters.

"Someone down at Camden Markets was selling them and I couldn't resist. I haven't been able to bring myself to buy chocolate rabbits since Anya died."

Rachel passed Dawn a chocolate animal that looked like an elongated rabbit with a long tail. "What do you make of this?"

"Weird. What is it?"

"The barman at our local ordered a box and said it was a Bilby. I think the Australians are having a lend of us."

He He, well why not! Native to the country and all that, and cute. Great work — via LiveJournal — posted by woman_of_ at 01.10.2007 19:43 AEST | #

They're much cuter than rabbits, especially when you consider that rabbits are a feral, introduced species in Australia — via LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 01.10.2007 19:43 AEST | #

Your icon bunny might be, but I'd argue the point on rabbits — via LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 01.10.2007 19:46 AEST | #

Chocolate bilbies! I'd heard of them. ^_^ — via LiveJournal — posted by laridian at 01.10.2007 19:46 AEST | #

They're very cute. Some of the manufacturers donate part of the proceeds to the preservation of their little, furry counterparts too — via LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 01.10.2007 19:47 AEST | #

So cute — via LiveJournal — posted by scarlettlily at 01.10.2007 19:47 AEST | #

Oh dear, unintentional cuteness. I'll try and fix that next time — via LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 01.10.2007 19:48 AEST | #

Huh, it looks sort of like a fox crossed with an anteater. Cute! And all I had were kitty-shaped chocolates. ;)

Say, Wolf, didn't hear back from you, so I'm just checking in to see if you got your beta back? I sent it back within a half hour, but I know there's always the possibility of it having bounced. From some reason, my messages have an annoying tendency to do that... grrr — via LiveJournal — posted by Moonbeam at 01.10.2007 19:49 AEST | #

They're little bandicoot guys. Very cute.

Yes, I did get your rapidly returned beta, I've just been horribly slack (and watching Doctor Who). Thanks muchly, it will be up tonight — via LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 01.10.2007 19:49 AEST | #

Doctor Who is a more than worthy excuse for making me worry. ;) — via LiveJournal — posted by Moonbeam at 01.10.2007 19:50 AEST | #

Chocolate cthulus... OMG, I want one now! — via LiveJournal — posted by vampedvixen at 01.10.2007 19:50 AEST | #

You'd think someone would be making them, wouldn't you? Closest I found was an unintentional piece of advent chocolate.

Have a Bilby instead, the elder god may be displaeased if you gnaw upon his tentacles and will eat you last — via LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 01.10.2007 19:51 AEST | #

Having a lend of us? What's that translate to in American English?

They make chocolate Cthulhus? That's even better than Santa Cthulu plushies, or Hello Cthulhu stickers. I want one! — via LiveJournal — posted by Elizabeth Culmer at 01.10.2007 19:52 AEST | #

Making a joke at your expense.

I couldn't find chocolate Cthulhus, but I'd be surprised if someone wasn't making them — via LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 01.10.2007 19:53 AEST | #

Aw, she couldn't eat chocolate bunnies after Anya. I like that you put that in there. Clever, as always, my dear — via LiveJournal — posted by Jan at 01.10.2007 19:53 AEST | #

Ah, those crazy Aussies. This story actually made me feel kind of sad, what with the Anya reference and all — via LiveJournal — posted by Mark Hunter at 01.10.2007 19:56 AEST | #

I had to use the Anya reference, it seemed a shame not to remember her — via LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 01.10.2007 19:56 AEST | #

Absolutely! And it fit right in with the story as a whole — via LiveJournal — posted by Mark Hunter at 01.10.2007 19:57 AEST | #

Loove the idea of chocolate Cthulhus. Everyone would of course have the tradition of biting off the tentacles first! — via LiveJournal — posted by spuffyduds at 01.10.2007 19:57 AEST | #
