by Red WolfExpecting another ritual in the desert, Buffy was surprised when Giles led her into a smoky bar and proceeded to discuss her behaviour in a very unWatcher-like manner.
"I can understand reaching out to Spike and your need for closeness, what I don't get is your contrary treatment of him after the fact."
Buffy refused to meet his eyes. She couldn't believe anyone could want her when she was dead inside, when Spike looked at her as if she was alive and worthy of his love, she couldn't stand it.
"Spike took the pain away, I needed to feel something."

You're right, she didn't deserve him. She was beneath him, but he could never see it — via LiveJournal

maybe on Angel? Is it to much to hope that he finally breaks free of her? — via LiveJournal

A very good chance.
SMG dithered over being in the final season of Angel for so long until she announced to Joss that she could clear her schedule of amazingly crap movie to appear in the last episode. No doubt she expected everyone to dance to her tune.
Joss didn't want the last episode to be about Buffy, so told her to go jump. No Buffy in the finale. Yay! — via LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 12.04.2004 13:03 AEST |

*big grin* good. You just know that if she were in it, the episode would inevitably become The Choice. And that would suck, because either way Spike loses. Either he doesn't get the girl or he gets stuk with the bitch. lol — via LiveJournal

Lovely tidbit. I still detest Buffy's reasoning. If it had been the other way around, everyone would've started screaming 'abuse' and picketing for female rights.
So, girls can abuse guys but if guys abuse girls — it's wrong? ::smacks Buffy:: Sorry for ranting — via LiveJournal — posted by MAC at 12.04.2004 13:05 AEST |

I loathe the duality of situations like this. It's acceptable for Buffy to behave like an abusive loser, but not Spike. It's acceptable for men to sleep around, but not women. You can't have it both ways — via LiveJournal

I'll kick Buffy's ass, then let's see if she feels that. *shakes head* Seriously, as much as I detest Buffy, I adore you, so I've reached a balance, and shall keep reading.
I guess I feel a bit sorry for Buffy, and that's the main problem I have. I won't go so far as to say that I sympathize with her, but I can't hate someone that strikes me as so confused and well, pitiful — via LiveJournal — posted by Dawn S at 12.04.2004 13:07 AEST |

Even when she's doing the public confession thing, I don't really know if she regrets her actions or is ashamed that her friends found out what she was doing — via LiveJournal

Duplicity, indeed... this one left me musing over the implications. Very good job of conveying the word in meaning and sense — via LiveJournal

Wow. 100 words. Drabble. it's a love/hate thing. I love what you've done so far, I hate the fact that it's not longer than 100 words. But hey. That's drabble I guess. Adios! — via fanfiction.net

Well, I didn't mean that she was sorry, but more that the reader can see her glaring faults, even when she can't or won't see them in herself — via LiveJournal
