Alley 05: Calm Before The Storm

Calm Before The Stormby Red Wolf

Spike's avoidance of Buffy throughout the week had won him Dawn's approbation and, more importantly, a breather in which to fully heal.

While still casting wistful looks in Buffy's direction, Dawn also noted that Spike was steady in his resolve to honour his word. Although she suspected his promise to her meant far more to him than did concern for his own welfare.

Unfortunately, Buffy was getting impossible to live with. Twitchy and irritable, she had started to lash out at those around her. Sooner or later her sister would crack and Dawn feared it would be sooner rather later.

Wow, this one was tense. I'm kinda scared for both Spike and Dawn. ::hisses:: Bad Buffy — via LiveJournal — posted by MAC at 03.04.2004 12:17 AEST | #

Woohoo! Pantomime!

In tonight's exciting episode the part of Buffy, the ugly sister, shall be played by Oliver Reed.

That just went in a scary direction I'd rather not contemplate — via LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 03.04.2004 12:18 AEST | #

I really don't think I should find this as funny as I do... oh, wait, I wasn't thinking. It all works out then, doesn't it? Scary can be funny, scary's good — via LiveJournal — posted by MAC at 03.04.2004 12:20 AEST | #

Ooh, progress. *goes to get more popcorn before next installment* — via LiveJournal — posted by Rhonda at 03.04.2004 12:22 AEST | #

Yep. Things are moving, but it doesn't look like it will bode well for anybody — via LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 03.04.2004 12:23 AEST | #

Right, I'm officially an alley!verse fan. Mark me down.

I can't get over how deftly you take the word limitations and weave them into a coherent story. Takes such talent.

Following with fascination! — via LiveJournal — posted by Willa at 03.04.2004 12:23 AEST | #

The funny thing is that I don't see the challenge as a limitation. I get to produce something whole and complete that doesn't languish in the depths of my hard drive being glared at occasionally. Weirdly enough my muse loves the challenge.

It would have been nice if the muse mentioned liking challenge inspired drabbles and ficlets before it buggered off for parts unknown last time, but you can't have everything — via LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 03.04.2004 12:24 AEST | #

A nice interlude in the Alley!verse — via LiveJournal — posted by alliterator at 03.04.2004 12:35 AEST | #

Uh-oh. Is this the calm before the storm? — via LiveJournal — posted by Leni at 03.04.2004 12:39 AEST | #

Does look that way, doesn't it — via LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 03.04.2004 12:39 AEST | #

*sighs* I am ridiculously caught up in this story. It's sadly reminiscent of addicted-to-soap opera-days. *shrugs* Take two steps forward and one step back.

But really, this is a lovely addiction to have.

I look forward to the day that Buffy will die and I can dance on her grave — via LiveJournal — posted by Dawn S at 03.04.2004 12:41 AEST | #

So that would be me, hanging out on street corners, peddling my stories to unsuspecting youth. Strange and cool at the same time.

The only problem with dancing on Buffy's grave, is that she has an annoying habit of not staying dead — via LiveJournal — posted by Red Wolf at 03.04.2004 12:41 AEST | #
